Entrepreneurship Academics
Cal Lutheran students can pursue an entrepreneurship education through the School of Management. Course offerings are designed to be deeply experiential and valuable in whatever career a graduate decides to pursue.
We believe that:
- The principles of entrepreneurship can be taught to anyone
- Practicing entrepreneurship can benefit your career, personal life, and societal contribution, regardless of whether or not you launch a startup
- You can best learn entrepreneurship through experience
Entrepreneurship as an academic discipline is still in its infancy. We therefore encourage experimentation and initiative in teaching the subject — a philosophy that entrepreneurs practice in customer and business model discovery.
We gravitate toward the work of:
- Steve Blank's Lean Launchpad
- Bill Aulet's Disciplined Entrepreneurship
- Saras Sarasvathy's Effectual Entrepreneurship
- John Mullins
- Bill Gartner's World-reknowned Academic Research on Entrepreneurship
As other seminal works emerge, we will incorporate them into our curriculum and practice.
