Welcome to the Financial Aid Office at California Lutheran University. Our office is a dedicated team committed to providing students with excellent customer service while giving you the financial resources to attend a private university.
We are open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to assist you with financial aid, loans and Federal Work Study counseling. Students, who want to speak with their Counselor by phone, can call 805-493-3291.
If you would like to set an appointment with your Counselor, we are open for appointments Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. If you do not schedule an appointment, you may come into the office to request to meet with a counselor. To avoid prolonged wait periods, we recommend that you make an appointment.

California Lutheran University will enter the Direct Lending Program for 2010 - 2011
Beginning with the 2010-2011 academic year, California Lutheran University will participate in the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan (Direct Loan) Program. This means that students will now get their Stafford, Grad Plus, and Parent Plus loans directly through the U. S. Department of Education, rather than through lenders participating in the Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) such as individual banks, educational lenders, and credit unions.
The shifting credit markets and changes in federal law have reduced the number of lenders offering Federal Stafford and Plus Loans through FFELP. Because of the changes in the federal law, many lenders can no longer offer the discounts and incentives that previously made it preferable to borrow from them.
California Lutheran University has carefully weighed the strengths and weaknesses of the Direct Loan Program and has determined that it is the best program for our borrowers. The Direct Loan Program ensures the availability of funds, reduced fees versus the FFELP program, and is simpler and faster.

Once you have been awarded, an e-mail will be sent to your callutheran.edu e-mail address. The subject of the e-mail is "Important Notice From The Financial Aid Office" and will contain the link directing you to WebAdvisor where you can view your Financial Aid Award letter. If you have any difficulty accessing your award notice, please call the Financial Aid Office at (805) 493-3291.
