Muslim Life

California Lutheran University is dedicated to providing a welcoming and supportive environment for Muslim students, faculty and staff. All Muslim students are encouraged to freely express their faith on campus, make friends, and fulfill their spiritual needs.

The Islamic faith is represented on campus by the Muslim Student Alliance. We are currently seeking a person to serve as a Muslim Life Coordinator to provide assistance to Muslims and represent Islam in the overall community.

As a faith-based institution, Cal Lutheran provides resources to members of all faiths. On campus, there is a dedicated prayer space located in Samuelson Chapel to serve the needs of both Muslim and non-Muslim students. Cal Lutheran is also an alcohol-free campus.

Muslim Student Alliance

Cal Lutheran’s Muslim Student Alliance (MSA) is a vibrant club on campus which brings students together in a welcoming space. Through the Muslim Student Alliance, students are able to fulfill both their social and spiritual needs. The group hosts several campus-wide events that highlight the Islamic faith such as Eid celebrations, Fast-a-thon, and an annual Muslim culture banquet.

In an effort to promote infterfaith dialogue, the MSA also hosts several academic and cultural events to educate the Cal Lutheran community. These include spoken word events, Mary & Jesus in Islam, and Islam Awareness Week. The MSA is committed to collaborate with other faith-based groups on campus.

Social events are also hosted by MSA to create a safe and inclusive environment for both Muslims and non-Muslims. Through these events, students are able to meet new people, express themselves freely, network with another, and create valuable life-long relationships.

With the full support of the university, MSA members are given the opportunity to develop critical leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

The Muslim Student Alliance is open to both Muslim and non-Muslim students.
