is the question. What are the determing factors when it comes to
the installation of stop sign and
a signal light.
In other words when are there to many cars for a stop
sign and not enough cars for a signal
light?
The reason why I decided to do my senior mathematical modeling project
on this is because on the way to school everyday there was a particular
intersection with a four-way stop sign. This stop sign produced unecessary
delays for the cars traveling on the major street. That is when I
asked myself what are the factors that determines what kind of traffic
signal is used at an intersection.
