The Cal Lutheran Experience

As an artist, my purpose is to show up to the easel and do my work. Whether outcomes are good or not so good, to show up and give all of themselves to the work at hand is the most important thing that my students can learn from me. When I see those that have taken that to heart, I know I have done my job.

Studying abroad in Berlin was incredible because I was able to witness first-hand the culture and language that I had been learning about for so many years. Some of the highlights were being able to study at a German university, travel around Europe, and live with a host family. I came back to Cal Lutheran with a better understanding of my place in the world, eager to continue my studies in German with a new perspective.

I believe that I benefited the most from classes that weren’t highly advertised within the department, such as the Costume and Scene and Acting for Shakespeare classes. You can become part of the industry in other ways and continue to develop your acting skills, all while continuing your career path.
