The Cal Lutheran Experience

When mentoring students in research projects, it’s the beyond-the-classroom context that allows creating a long-term collaborative relationship between the students and me. So, I can wear the many different hats of a teacher to support the students and share a greater perspective on the significance of their projects with them.

Physics is the primordial science that tries to understand and model the "why?", "how?" and "when?" of our universe. As a curious person, this everlasting quest for answers drew me to physics. At Cal Lutheran, the physics department gave me the instruction and opportunities to become a great experimentalist through numerous hands-on experiences.

Theatre Arts

Part of my goal as a professor and mentor, in helping students discover their purpose, is to nurture their interests. Because theatre is comprised of so many different areas, sub-disciplines and specializations, it's important to help the students discover their passion and desire within the industry. That may mean encouraging them to investigate a class they  may not have chosen to take on their own or exposing them to another area within theatre where you can see an interest in.
