Spring 2012 Flag Football

ATTENTION: ALL GAMES ARE MOVED FROM THURSDAY TIMES TO SUNDAY NIGHTS AT THE SAME TIME

This semester is the first semester where Flag Football gets to compete in the new Wiliam Rolland Stadium. With several of the same teams from the Fall semester and several new ones, this should be a very exciting season of Flag Football. All games will be played on SUNDAY evenings with the first night of games being Thursday, February 2. Teams compete in a 7-on-7 format and each team must have 2 or more members of each gender on the field at a time. The game consists of 20 minute halves with a running clock, on an 80 yard field. Touchdowns are worth 6 points and teams can elect to go for one extra point, or two, which is determined by the distance from the end zone. A first down can only be achieved by crossing the mid-field line.

Back That Pass Up Brings it Home

The championship game came down to two of the top teams in the league. Back That Pass Up faced off under the lights against last years champs, Air Raid. This game went down to the wire as the score went back and forth, with the lead changing each time. Back That Pass Up, captained by Shane Wolfe brought home the title in a hard fought game that ended with the score of 36-33.
