EN ESPAÑOL

Is New Student Orientation required for my student?

Yes. It is mandatory for all students to attend New Student Orientation so that they can become better acclimated to the campus. They need to register for the event at www.callutheran.edu/orientation. If for any reason they will not be able to attend part of Orientation, please contact the Student Life Office at 805-493-3197 prior to August 5, 2016.

If my student requested to live on campus, will they receive their residence hall assignment and the name of their roommate(s) before they get to Orientation?

Yes. Residence Life completes the residence hall room/roommate assignment process in early July. Your student will receive your assignment, the names of their roommates, and their contact information mid July on the portal. They can access this information by going to www.callutheran.edu/myclu. Once logged in, housing information is posted on the bottom right. If there any questions regarding housing assignments, contact Residence Life at Office at 805-493-3220. We recommend that your student contact their roommates before they arrive to introduce themselves and talk about who is bringing what.

Where can my student find an on-campus job? What does my student do if they have Federal Work Study?

We have a Job Fair on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 from 9:00am-11:00am in Gilbert Arena. The Job Fair will include on campus employers who will be accepting applications from students. Your student can go directly to the Student Employment website for on campus jobs. Do not forget to have your student bring their Social Security Card (original) with them to campus. This will be needed to process the paper work to get a job.

How and when does my student get their books for class?

During Orientation, the bookstore will be open so that you can purchase books. Students can also purchase books online at www.efollet.com. If purchasing books online before Orientation, the bookstore will pull books at the time of purchase and have them ready when you get to campus. All you have to do is pick them up.

How does my student get involved on campus and sign up for clubs and other involvement opportunities?

Our Involvement Fair will take place during the second week in September in Kingsmen Park in the center of campus. Club Officers will be present to tell students about how to join their organizations. In addition, students can get information about all the clubs and organizations by going to the directory on the website. For other ways to get involved, check Student Life's website Getting Involved.

When will my student get their mailbox number and on-campus address? What if we want to mail items to campus prior to my student's arrival?

Most students will receive their mailbox numbers and combinations in their check-in packet during Orientation. Your student's address on campus will be:

101 Memorial Parkway
Campus Box #______
Thousand Oaks, CA 91360

What happens if I were to arrive late?

If you are to arrive late on either day (Friday and or Saturday) please locate the information tent. The information tent will be located in front of the flag pole on memorial and you will be able to check-in and pick up your orientation packet.
