Interested in a career in the Communication Field? Speakers will talk about the nature of the job, skills necessary to be successful in the field, salary information and personal advice on how to break into the field.

Nathan Hoyt ‘09 Head of Public Relations at Aston Martin The Americas


Nathan Hoyt is the Head of Public Relations for Aston Martin the Americas. In that position, he oversees media engagement for the 109 year-old luxury automotive brand in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Chile and Peru. Nathan has always had a passion for the automotive industry and always wanted to work in the field in some way having grown up in a house that was car-obsessed. His journey to a communications degree from CalLu in 2009 and career in Automotive PR was a circuitous one, first starting with selling cars at a local Toyota dealership before returning to college to finish his four-year degree. After graduation, Nathan went to work for a local PR agency in the San Fernando Valley specializing in automotive, before transitioning to in-house positions at Jaguar Land Rover and Aston Martin. Nathan splits his time between South Orange County and Thousand Oaks where he was born and raised.


Elaine Eprem ‘18 Associate Marketing Communications Manager at SAGE Publishing


Elaine Eprem graduated from California Lutheran University in 2018 with a Communication degree. She now works at SAGE Publishing as an Associate Marketing Communications Manager on their Researcher Marketing team. She handles email campaigns for the team along with journey building, project management, and campaign analysis. She got an internship at SAGE Publishing during her senior year at Cal Lutheran and was offered a position at the company when she graduated. Elaine married fellow Cal Lutheran alumni, Nathan Eprem, in December of 2020. In her free time, she loves singing and playing with her cat, Loki.


Aliyah Navarro ‘18 Digital Programming Coordinator at NFL


Aliyah Navarro, Digital Programming Coordinator at NFL, started her position in November 2021 after graduating with a Masters in Strategic Public Relations with a Specialization in Sports and Entertainment, Public Relations, Advertising and Applied Communications from USC in May 2021. She graduated from Cal Lutheran in 2018 with a BA Degree in Communication with an Emphasis in Public Relations and Advertising. Internship experience with organizations such as The Beverly Hills Sports Council and Fox Sports, her CLU and USC education background, networking and content creation skills all helped her get to the position she’s in today.


Molly Strawn ‘18 Senior Marketing Strategist at InnovateMR


Molly Strawn is a Senior Marketing Strategist at InnovateMR focused on outbound content creation including email, social media, events, and more. She has served in a number of marketing and entrepreneurial-related positions throughout her career, and benefits from a deep knowledge base related to brand strategy, social media virality, digital content production and promotion, and SEO optimization. She was most recently nominated for the Significant Insights Global 30Under30 and the Greenbook GRIT Future List. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication with an Emphasis in Journalism and two minors in Entrepreneurship and Environmental Studies in 2018 at CLU.
