Physics

Minor

The underlying science.

Physics is the foundation of chemistry and at the heart of geology. It is the expression of mathematics in the physical world and dictates the fundamental rules of the universe.

What you’ll study

You’ll choose to study either calculus- or algebra-based physics for your first courses, which cover mechanics, thermodynamics, electricity, magnetism, and optics. (We recommend calculus-based.)

After that, you are free to pursue the topics that interest you most. Electronics, astrophysics, quantum theory, and optics are just some of the options available to you.
