Regals Out Touched by Occidental

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – In a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) dual meet with Occidental today the Cal Lutheran women’s swimming and diving team fell by a 197-94 margin.

A trio of CLU student-athletes earned first place points for the Regals today. Sarah Forsythe won the 100 Free in 55.79 and Mimi Harbach hit the wall first in the 400 Individual Medley (4:49.93), winning by more than 12 seconds, while Sheyenne Machida took home the one-meter diving title after scoring a 220.95.  

Forsythe swam the 50 free in 25.98, just seven tenths of a second off the winning pace and Harbachnearly broke the 11-minute mark in the 1,000 free, clocking a time of 11:00.30 for second place as well.

Also scoring for the Violet and Gold today were Emily Borchard, Shelby Brooks, Taylor Faust, Kelli Miller, Juliana Rios, Annika Stenfjord, Stephanie Yu, Mary Wakabayashi, Danielle Warmuth and Alvina Wong.

Cal Lutheran (2-5) returns to the Samuelson Aquatics Center for senior day against Whittier on Saturday, Feb. 8 with competition slated to begin at 10:30 a.m.
