THOUSAND OAKS, Calif.– After capping an improbably run through the NCAA Division III Baseball Postseason over the last two weeks, the Cal Lutheran baseball team returns to campus today as newly crowned National champions.

Join the CLU community in welcoming home the team at 1:00 p.m. outside of Ullman Stadium and George “Sparky” Anderson Field in the bus turnaround.

The Kingsmen, led by 24th year head coach Marty Slimak, won their first NCAA Division III National title by defeating Washington & Jefferson twice on Tuesday in a best-of-three series at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton, Wisc. CLU battled back from a game one loss to force the first third game in a championship series since the inception of the three-game series.

Cal Lutheran (40-11) finished with just the second 40-win season in program history as it earned the second DIII National title in school history, joining the 2015 women’s volleyball program. Ironically, each programs won the prize on its third respective trip to the championship event.
