CLU Sunday to Focus on Campus Ministries Outreach, Service

California Lutheran University Sunday will be celebrated this year in churches throughout Region II of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America on Sunday, Oct. 5. On this day, the 775 ELCA churches that form CLU's constituency in the Southwest and Hawaii will recognize the alliance between CLU and the congregations of the ELCA.

According to the Rev. Reg Schultz–Akerson, Assistant to the President for Church Relations, CLU Sunday encourages churches to focus on Christian higher education and to acquaint young people with Lutheran institutions like CLU.

During CLU Sunday representatives of the University, including faculty members, administrators, alumni, students, regents and convocators, will be available to speak briefly to congregations, updating them on developments at the University and encouraging their support.
