CLU’s Provost to become First Woman President of Concordia College

Dr. Pamela Jolicoeur, Provost and Dean of the Faculty at California Lutheran University, will become the 10th president of Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn. She will be the college’s first woman president.

Jolicoeur was unanimously endorsed by the Presidential Search Committee at Concordia College and formally accepted the position.

A graduate of Santa Clara University with master’s and doctoral degrees from Purdue University, Jolicoeur joined the CLU sociology faculty in 1972 and served as department chair from 1979 to 1983. She assumed key leadership positions in the dean’s office beginning in 1981 and became vice president for Academic affairs in 1993, before moving into her current position in 1996.

This selection by Concordia recognizes the exceptional ability and achievement Jolicoeur has demonstrated as a leader having proven her versatile abilities in leading not only CLU’s academic affairs division but also the enrollment and information services divisions.

During her tenure, CLU achieved many academic milestones such as regional and national accreditations and increasingly higher rankings by U.S. News & World Report and other well–respected organizations. Most recently, she was instrumental in assuring that CLU’s School of Education was selected for accreditation by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
