CLU Wins Higher Education Award for Stellar Website

THOUSAND OAKS, CA – March 2005 –– California Lutheran University’s website and the team behind the University’s newly restructured Internet system have garnered a Higher Education Award from WebsiteASP, Inc.

CLU’s website is designed and implemented by the CLU Publications/Webmaster team led by Webmaster and Director of Publications Mike Adams with Justin Barkhuff, Erik Hagen and freelance multimedia designer Penny Yost.

“The recognition that CLU’s website has received is a distinct honor for our University, said Ritch K. Eich, Ph.D., Vice President for Marketing and Communications at CLU. Mike Adams and his staff have worked diligently over the past 18 months to remodel many of the sites within the dynamic CLU web system, and we are so proud of them,” added Eich who oversees the Web Center and Office of Publications. “The recent web enhancements reflect some of the University’s major priorities to better serve the internal and external communities through interactive Internet resources and a progressive portal system.”

Sites that have been enhanced in recent months include the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Business, School of Education, Media Relations and Speakers Bureau, Events Services, and Community Leaders Association. A new calendaring system and sites for the Development Office and neighbors and campus visitors were also launched to better serve users of www.clunet.edu.

The Higher Education Web Site Recognition Award is awarded to colleges and universities that demonstrate the desire to build an effective channel of communication with their students, alumni, faculty, and all other key beneficiaries of the institution. Past recipients of the award include Dartmouth College, Mills College and Pepperdine University.
