California Lutheran University Faculty Promotions Announced

(THOUSAND OAKS, CA –March 2006) – The Board of Regents of California Lutheran University has approved the following promotions in rank and tenure for faculty, effective August 2006.

Susan Murphy, Ph.D., (School of Business) was granted tenure and promoted to the rank of associate professor. Murphy received her MBA from Texas Tech University and her doctorate from University of Illinois at Chicago. Beth Anderson Smith, Ph.D., (School of Education) was also granted tenure and promoted to the rank of associate professor. Smith received her master’s degree from Point Loma Nazarene College and her doctorate from the University of Colorado.

Four faculty members were elected to the position of associate professor. Marylie Gerson, Ph.D., (Psychology Department) received her bachelor’s from the College of William and Mary and her doctorate from Princeton University. Carol Coman, (Business Administration) received her bachelor’s and master’s from California State University, Northridge. Thomas McCambridge, Ph.D., (School of Education) received his bachelor’s and master’s in education from Loyola University, his master’s from the University of California, San Diego and his Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles. Randall Donohue, Ph.D., (School of Business) received his bachelor’s from Willamette University, his master’s from the University of Strathclyde and his Ph.D. from the University of South Australia.

One faculty member has been promoted to the rank of full professor. Cynthia Jew, Ph.D., (School of Education), received her bachelor’s and master’s from the University of Colorado and her doctorate from the University of Denver.
