(THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – July 17, 2013) Andre Andoyan of Santa Maria will be the president of the Associated Students of California Lutheran University Government for the 2013-2014 year.
Students elected Andoyan, a business administration major, as well as the four other members of the Executive Cabinet. The Executive Cabinet plans activities and programs to educate and entertain students and serve the community.
Andoyan, who is pursuing an international business emphasis and minoring in Asian studies, studied abroad in China. He previously served as ASCLU Senate director and is a resident assistant on campus. He is interning for a Santa Barbara County Superior Court judge this summer.
As president, Andoyan will lead ASCLU and serve on CLU’s Board of Regents and Alumni Board of Directors. He will be the primary liaison between students and the faculty and staff.
Maxi Jones, a bioengineering major from Aliso Viejo, will be Senate director. She is a first-year peer adviser and student ambassador. She belongs to Beta Beta Beta, the National Biological Honor Society.
Katy Crabtree of Silverdale, Wash., was elected programs board director. A member of Pi Sigma Alpha, The National Political Science Honor Society, she is pursuing a political science degree with emphases in international relations and law and public policy and a minor in business administration. She is a student ambassador and the outreach and social media intern for CLU’s Wellness Programs. She has also served as a peer adviser and sung with the Women’s Chorale and Gospel Choir.
Beau Pellowski, a business administration major from Canyon Country, will serve as controller. He was named the 2013 Rookie of the Year for ASCLU Government. Pursuing an emphasis in finance and a minor in mathematics, he interned with a tax services office. He also plays first trumpet in the CLU Jazz Ensemble.
Jae Park, a music major from Torrance, is executive recorder. He has served as an ASCLU Government senator, student ambassador and peer adviser. Active with Campus Ministry, he has been involved with the Lord of Life Student Congregation and currently coordinates the 3G Network book discussions and co-leads the weekly Common Ground student-led services. He also sings with the CLU Choir and is a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, The National Leadership Society.
