Tree of the Month

It is April, and the campus is in bloom. Do not miss the beautiful example of the "double-flowered peach" (Prunus persica) on the walkway between Memorial Parkway and the Cafeteria. The bright pink flowers are spectacular. It is called "double-flowered," because instead of just fiver petals, there is another row of petals, making the flowers unusually showy.

Barbara Collins, Ph.D., is a professor of biology at California Lutheran University. She teaches General Biology for the majors, Microbiology, Environmental Ecology, California Plant Communities, Flora of Southern California, and Wildflowers of the Sierras. Festival of Scholars

To learn more about what we have on campus, join me on an arboretum tour on Wednesday, April 29th, at 3:00 PM. Meet at the fountain and enjoy our beautiful campus. This is the Festival of Scholars week, and we will be back in time to stop at the Nelson Room for the celebration of campus authors.
