Board Leadership Roundtable

This countywide event is a unique opportunity for both new and seasoned board members to convene for the purposes of networking, information sharing and addressing mutual successes and challenges unique to their leadership roles.

An invitation to serve on a nonprofit board is one of life’s great honors, but it also comes with great responsibility. No one is born knowing how to serve on a nonprofit board. Yes, many learn “on the job,” but educating our nonprofit board leaders remains critical.

This detailed presentation by Roy Schneider, a nationally recognized attorney in nonprofit law, will address the nuts and bolts of nonprofit board service. Topics of discussion will include applicable laws, areas of potential liability, standard conduct for officers, fiduciary duties, indemnification and private inurement.
