How can theories of race, gender, class, and sexual identities provide a critical lens for researching problems in our communities, professions, fields of study, creative work, and civic life? Students in English 111 Critical Reading and Writing II, who are in the early stages of learning about academic inquiry, present their poster projects identifying a problem, formulating a research question, synthesizing their review of current research, and discussing their findings and possible next steps - all framed in the language of a specific theory or intersecting theories. Stop by for peppy talks about traditional and subversive gender roles, institutionalized racism, classism, heteronormative culture, and more!
