Location: Kwan Fong Gallery - map
Event Description
Best known for his golf paintings, eclectic artist Noble Powell began his career as an abstract expressionist and portrait artist. Working primarily in oils on canvas, Powell’s love of color, movement and emotion draws viewers into the scene, making them an integral part of the setting. In these portraits, Powell has stepped into new territory, painting sensitive and moving pictures of special needs children and their families. His images reveal the love and devotion that is shared by these families and offer insight into lives of care and acceptance. Powell is an Artist in Residence at the Studio Channel Islands Art Center located at California State University Channel Islands. He also owns Creative Alliance, an art group specializing in all facets of commercial art and marketing. Admission is free. The Kwan Fong Gallery, located in Soiland Humanities Center, is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. "Me & Mom" by Noble A. Powell III
