Red, White and Blue: The Americana Experience

In celebration of the bicentennial of the birth of President Abraham Lincoln, The Ronald Reagan Foundation and the California Lutheran University Wind Ensemble invite you to a special evening of Americana. At 8 p.m., the University Wind Ensemble will perform a concert of music by American composers featuring Aaron Copland’s A Lincoln Portrait, a tribute to our 16th president. Copland's music is said to achieve a balance between modern music and American folk styles and evoke the vast American landscape. The program will include other works from the 19th and 20th centuries.

Other exclusive events in this evening of celebration (beginning at 5:30 p.m.) include a tour of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum with a viewing of the Magna Carta exhibit; a stroll through a functional Revolutionary War Town where vendors display their wares, craftsmen demonstrate their skills and the 33rd Regiment of Foot Soldiers recreates an authentic day in the life; a beverage reception; and optional dinner buffet (6 to 7:45 p.m.).

Reservations are required. Price of $20/person includes concert, tours and beverage reception; $48/person also includes Americana dinner buffet. For additional information and to make reservations for The Americana Experience, visit www.reaganlibrary.com/events or call (805) 577-4118.
