Director

Safe Zone logoThe Director of Student Counseling Services, Dr. Alan Goodwin, is a California licensed psychologist (PSY19421) and attorney (CA Bar #156717). Dr. Goodwin also serves as the Director of Training at Student Counseling Services.

Dr. Goodwin attended Southern Illinois University, where he earned Master's and Ph.D. degrees from SIU's APA accredited Counseling Psychology program. He completed an APA accredited internship at the Counseling and Psychological Services center at the University of California at Davis.  Prior to becoming a licensed psychologist, Dr. Goodwin practiced law in Los Angeles. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Michigan Law School and earned his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University.

2010-2011 Post-Doctoral Fellows

Dr. Paulette Theresa, MFT, Psy.D. earned her Psy.D. in Cinical Psychology from Phillips Graduate School, in Encino, California. Prior to earning her Psy.D., Dr. Theresa worked as a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Dr. Theresa completed pre-doctoral internships at the university counseling centers at California Institute of Technology and at California State University at Northiridge. Dr. Theresa has provided individual, couples and family therapy in a variety of settings.

Dr. Khanh Hoang, M.A., Ph.D. earned her Masters and doctorate degrees from the American Psychological Association accredited Cinical Psychology doctoral program at Allaint International University, in Los Angeles. Dr. Hoang completed her pre-doctoral internship at the counseling center at Santa Ana College.

2010-2011 Part-time staff members

Kimberly Robbins is a doctoral student in Clinical Psychology, at Antioch Unviersity, in Santa Barbara. Prior to entering her doctoral training, she earned a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from CLU.

Dore Lavering is a doctoral student in Clinical Psychology, at Antioch Unviersity, in Santa Barbara.
