Assess Yourself Online!
Student Counseling Services (SCS )at CLU is committed to offering a variety of means to assist students to maximize their intellectual and emotional health. Just as a student with a sprained ankle probably would want to know about how to treat it in a way that assists it to heal quickly and completely, a student struggling with the discomfort of emotional or intellectual difficulties can learn ways to overcome those struggles.
Did you know there are online resources that can help you get an idea of how you might benefit from seeking counseling? Some students feel uncomfortable coming over to our Counseling Services building. For this reason, we offer students a way to use online resources in the privacy of their own home. Online resources cannot determine with certainty whether a person is struggling with a particular condition. To make that determination, the person really should see a professional. But online resources can give a broad and initial indication of the likelihood that an appointment with a professional might be helpful. We hope our online screening pages will help students who might benefit from our services to feel more encouraged to do so--even if the commitment you make is simply to come by for an initial intake, to see what services we offer.
The internet offers free, anonymous resources for assessing yourself for such conditions as excessive substance use, sadness or depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and unhealthy patterns related to eating. To access some of these online preliminary screening tools, click here.
