Marv Tuttle

Marv Tuttle, CAE, currently serves as executive director/CEO of the 29,000-member Financial Planning Association (FPA™). FPA is the membership organization for the financial planning community. It was created when the Institute of Certified Financial Planners (ICFP) and the International Association for Financial Planning (IAFP) unified on January 1, 2000. Members include individuals and companies who have contributed to building the financial planning profession and all those who champion the financial planning process. FPA believes that everyone needs objective advice to make smart financial decisions, and when seeking the advice of a financial planner, the planner should be a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER professional.

Prior to his appointment to executive director/CEO in January 2004, Tuttle served as FPA's associate executive director and publisher/editor of FPA's flagship publication, Journal of Financial Planning. He was with the ICFP since 1983, serving in various leadership roles in the organization. In 1996, he received the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), denoting a level of skill and expertise in the field of association management. That same year, the Journal of Financial Planning, under his guidance, was recognized as the Most Improved Magazine/Journal by ASAE for large associations in the United States. In addition, Tuttle has served as president of the Colorado Society of Association Executives. He is a graduate of Drake University with a bachelor's degree in journalism.
