Psychology Department Mission Statement
The mission of the Undergraduate Psychology Department at Cal Lutheran is to teach students to understand and apply the scientific process to studying the human mind and behavior. We seek to empower students to use psychological science to make informed evidence-based decisions and serve their communities. Students are exposed to theoretical and empirical foundations of the discipline and may choose courses from the domains of Biological, Cognitive, Developmental, Social and Personality, and Mental and Physical Health. In addition, we provide service-learning opportunities, research experiences both within and outside of coursework, and hands-on community engagement. We are committed to using innovative and culturally inclusive approaches to teaching, undergraduate research mentoring and advising.
