About ALLIES in STEM

ALLIES in STEM is an acronym that stands for: The Access, Learning, and Leadership Initiative to Elevate Students in STEM.

The ALLIES in STEM project was established at California Lutheran University in the summer of 2017, as one initiative to better support Hispanic, Latinx, low-income, and other underrepresented students at Cal Lutheran in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

We are a Title III grant-funded program, operating in partnership with Cal Lutheran’s Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) initiatives.

amd framework

The ALLIES in STEM project strives to improve the enrollment, retention, and graduation rates for all underrepresented students majoring in STEM disciplines. This will be accomplished through strengthening the Pathways to STEM at Cal Lutheran, and through the implementation of student-centered, high-impact practices on our campus.
