Committed to creating an inclusive culture.

Talent, Culture and Diversity was created to integrate three critical components of the university’s identity — our Lutheran values; our increasingly deep commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice (DEIJ); and our Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) designation.

The work that we do helps support traditionally underserved students, recruit and retain diverse faculty and staff, and reinforce a culture of belonging and social justice on campus. 

As a collective, we focus on bringing partnership and comprehensive collaboration around DEIJ efforts across the university and advocating that DEIJ principles shape decision-making. We are committed to creating an inclusive culture where our diverse students and employees can grow and feel part of a beloved community.

The Division of Talent, Culture and Diversity at Cal Lutheran is committed to cultivating the human potential by honoring the personhood of everyone in the Cal Lutheran community. We engage to co-create a beautiful, just, and beloved community that fosters a multi-campus culture of inclusion and belonging where everyone is valued. We advocate for equity and justice. We support the university’s mission by attracting, retaining, educating, and nourishing the whole person. We explore creative ways to fulfill our commitment to the university’s mission and values in educating students to thrive in a global society.
