Join Us for a Special Installation
Dear California Lutheran Community, During our University Chapel service on Thursday, Feb. 22, we will celebrate theinstallation of Rev. Dr. Colleen Windham-Hughes in her role as Associate Vice President(AVP) of Mission & Identity. An "installation” is an ELCA tradition that invites families, friends, colleagues, and community members to come together for prayer and blessing when a rostered leader assumes a new call. Please join in the blessing that helps Colleen live into the AVP position she assumed last summer. Amongst many other things, this position calls Colleen to be a pastoral presence to university members and leaders and the Board ofRegents. It also requires her to partner with the Chair of the Convocation in serving that group. I look forward to welcoming Bishop Brenda Bos from the Southwest California Synod who will help lead us, along with Rev. Scott and Rev. Sara Wilson, in this service. Clergy are invited to bring a Season of Creation or Lenten Purple stole to wear for the laying on of hands blessings. Please join this special time of community on Feb. 22 at 11:20 in Samuelson Chapel. All are welcome! Following Chapel service, a section of Ullman Dining Commons will be cordoned off for those who wish to dine there and celebrate with Colleen and guests. The service will also be live streamed. See you there, |

- Grateful for You
June 13, 2024To say I feel welcomed into this community would be the understatement of my working life. Since my first official day on the job, I have had the privilege of meeting many of you. You have welcomed me with open arms at local church services, a synod assembly, during impromptu conversations along "the spine," and at The Habit for lunch and Starbucks for coffee.
