Lunar New Year and Lantern Festival Celebrations

Lunar New Year and Lantern Festival Celebrations

2023 is a Year of the Rabbit, starting with celebrations Jan. 23 and culminating in the Lantern Festival from noon until 2 p.m. Feb. 6 in Kingsmen Park. The Rabbit, the fourth animal sign in the Chinese zodiac cycle, is predicted to be gentle, quiet, elegant and alert, as well as quick, skillful, kind, patient and very responsible.

The Center for Global Engagement will host activities to celebrate Lunar New Year, such as putting up red decorations, giving each other red envelopes (lucky money), eating international cuisine and building lanterns.

Events are free and open to the public.
