Zoltron: The Art of Rock 'n' Roll

The William Rolland Art Center is packed with Zoltron's brightly eye-catching screen-printed posters for rock acts, including veteran punk Iggy Pop, '90s alt-rockers Ween, and post-grunge Foo Fighters.

Zoltron's brilliant posters are a postmodern sampler of the psychedelic style of '60s concert posters mixed with unhinged '90s comic book art. The collection includes brightly colored, punk hallucinatory and horror-show wild imagery, likening to the trippy imagery of psychedelic designer Rick Griffin and pop-surrealists like lowbrow artist Robert Williams. Pulling from the past, they are pitch-perfect pictures for our postmodern present.
