Assistant/Deputy City Manager Career Panel Webinar

Join the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) Club for a webinar with a panel of assistant and deputy city managers. The panelists will share their career paths in local government, offer insights on how to enter and advance in the profession and discuss how they are addressing issues facing their organizations and communities.

Panelists:

Carmen Nicholas
Nichols serves as assistant city manager for the City of Camarillo is a native of Ventura County where she has spent most of her local government career of 29 years. She holds a B.S. in Organizational Management from the University of La Verne and a M.A. in Public Policy Administration from California Lutheran University

Erika Herrera-Terriquez
Herrera-Terriquez serves as the assistant city manager for the City of Fillmore. She was hired as the Human Resources Director in 2019 and quickly established herself as a leader and was promoted to Assistant City Manager in 2021.

Philippe Eskandar
Eskandar serves as deputy city manager for the City of Westlake Village where he works with a small team of staff overseeing several City functions including public safety, emergency operations, legislative affairs, parks and recreation programs, community services and events and more.

Cal Lutheran faculty member PJ Gagajena, M.P.P., M.U.P., pictured, will moderate the discussion.
