About this event

Creating a public relations plan can be daunting. Questions PR professionals ask are often; am I ready to start a PR plan? What are the key elements I need to have in place to start one?  How do I set realistic goals?  What are the key aspects of a successful program? When does it make sense to hire a professional consultant? What are the different areas of PR or marketing to include?  How do I evaluate my program’s success?  How do I engage my stakeholders and manage expectations?  This workshop will touch on these key questions and help bring structure to the decision-making process surrounding public relations programs. Attendees will walk away with new tools for creating campaigns for their organizations.

In this workshop, you'll learn:

  1. How to prepare for a PR strategy
  2. The elements of a successful PR campaign
  3. Tips to staying on message
  4. What a good news release looks like
  5. How to connect with relevant media outlets
  6. How to manage expectations, goals and set objectives

You’ll receive a brief presentation and then you’ll have an opportunity to ask questions pertaining to your work. Come prepared to engage!
