Submit your original art, multimedia creations, writing, and music to the Morning Glory at email@example.com by the deadline.
We are accepting submissions of any art form: poetry, prose (including short fiction and creative nonfiction, dramatic scenes, essays, etc) paintings, drawings, sculptures, photography, short video and audio projects (including music, dance, spoken word poetry, podcast snippets, etc). Students, faculty, staff, and alumni of CLU may submit.
Submission Deadline: 5:00pm on Wednesday, March 10th, 2021.
This year's Morning Glory will be fully virtual, and the theme will revolve around interpretations of time, but all submissions are accepted regardless of their relation to the theme.
In previous years, the Morning Glory staff has spent time collecting art, literature, and music submissions from students, faculty, and alumni. In February, the staff has gathered at Dr. Wines' house for food, company, and the reading of the hundreds of submissions collected. Using a scale of 1-10, each staff person typically reads and rates the submissions. The highest-scoring submissions are then selected for publication. Authors' identities are typically concealed until the magazine is published.
In 2021, however, Morning Glory submissions will be reviewed, collected, and assembled into this year's edition by the 2020-2021 English department assistants. Despite this change, many things remain the same! As always, submissions from all religions, backgrounds, and viewpoints are welcome and encouraged!
