ELCA Partners in Ministry Award

The ELCA Partners in Ministry Award is available to unmarried children of rostered ELCA Lutheran Clergy. Students receiving this award must be 23 or younger and enrolled full time at CLU in the Traditional Undergraduate Program. The minimum award for new and continuing students is $4,000.  The award maximum, including other insitutionally funded scholarships, ensures eligible recipients the total combined institutional awards equal at least 50% tuition.

Eligibility

All children of clergy who are on the roster of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America are eligible for this grant, given that they meet the provisions which follow:

  • minimum qualifications for admission to the University.
  • enrolled as a continuous, full-time student.
  • remain in good standing, with a minimum of a 2.0 cumulative GPA. Enrollment status will be evaluated on an annual basis.
  • 23 or younger and unmarried.

Procedure

Interested students who note on their Application for Admission to California Lutheran University that one (or both) of their parents is on the roster of the ELCA will automatically be considered for this grant.
