Long Term Disability Insurance
Provider: Lincoln Financial Group
Eligibility: Administrators and Faculty with an annual half-time contract or more are eligible for enrollment within the first 30 days of commencing work at California Lutheran University. Staff employees who work 30 hours per week or more are eligible for enrollment the first of the next month after completing 30 days.
Benefit waiting period is 180 days.
You will be enrolled once you have completed 180 days in the University's employ and work a minimum of 30 hours per week for Staff employees, and 3/4 time annual for Administrative and Faculty employees. Reimbursement is approximately 66 2/3% of employee's last year's base wages up to a maximum of $10,000/month.

State Disability Insurance - Short Term
Mandated by the state for all employees. Coverage provides benefits for a maximum
of 9 months in California.
Available after 7 consecutive days of work are missed. You may submit a claim directly with the Employment Development Department (EDD) through the website at http://www.edd.ca.gov/Disability/How_to_File_a_DI_Claim_in_SDI_Online.htm.
