Residential Alcohol Permit Process

California Lutheran University is an educational community committed to fostering a safe and healthy educational environment that promotes student success. All members of the university community are responsible for contributing to a healthy campus culture that supports students who do not use alcohol as well as students who use alcohol responsibly. Students are expected to make healthy choices concerning alcohol use and to do their part to ensure the safety of other students. The University provides educational resources, activities and programming focused on responsible alcohol use, resources on the effects of alcohol misuse, as well as services and information for students who need help for themselves or others related to alcohol use.

Possession and consumption of alcohol is permitted by persons 21 years of age or older only after successful completion of the alcohol permit educational program and only in private bedrooms within University residence halls, where at least one assigned resident is 21 years of age or older. If all students are 21 and over in the suite, alcohol is permitted in common areas and refrigerators.
