Disability Support Services (DSS)

We recognize and value diversity on our campus community and are committed to providing equal access and opportunities to qualified students with various disabilities. Our Disability Support Services (DSS) provides comprehensive services in a manner that promotes respect and self-advocacy. In addition, we comply with University policy, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the Americans with Disability Act of 1990 with its amendments of 2008.

If you are a student needing to request accommodations, please register with  DSS for the facilitation and verification of needs. DSS is located within the Center for Student Success (CSS). You and the coordinator can discuss your disability-related requests for aids and services.   Questions? Contact DSS Coordinator Wendy Jimenez at or 805-493-3260.

Special Accommodations - Commencement 2014

California Lutheran University strives to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Any graduating student or a guest attending commencement, requiring accommodations for a disability, needs to contact us (Disability Support Services) at or 805.493.3464 at least one month prior to Commencement.

Please provide the information on the Commencement Accessibility Seating 2014 Request Form to our office. It is not necessary to submit the form itself, but we do need the requested information as outlined in the form in order to provide the Accessibility Seating tickets. You may call our office or email the information in the body of an email, if that is easier.

One guest may sit with the individual needing special accommodations in this reserved Accessibility Seating area.

Each guest must have a ticket, and tickets must be presented at the Accessibility Seating area gate on the day of commencement.  Children two years old and younger do not need a ticket if they sit on the lap of an adult.

There is a limited amount of seating in the Accessibility Seating Area. Ticket holders should be reminded that the seats are not assigned within the Reserved Seating Area and will be first come, first serve.

Students may contact us to request accessibility seating on behalf of their guests or guests may contact us directly.  However, if a student needs accommodations for commencement, he or she must contact us personally.
