About this event

Are you aware of all the institutional  funders who might support your work? Do you know the right amount to request? What do you need to know before you put pen to paper?

This workshop will explore best practices in foundation prospect research utilizing Foundation Directory Online Professional, a searchable database of foundations and corporate giving programs.  Topics will include how to research a prospect’s funding guidelines & priorities, searching for specific types of grants and determining for what and how much to ask for. The session will include hands-on experience using the database.

This session will be held in partnership with the Thousand Oaks Public Library which provides free access to Foundation Directory Online Professional.

Attendees will be asked to have a current library card.

Applying for a library card is easy. Participants can fill out an online application form to receive a temporary library card ahead of the workshop by visiting https://search.tolibrary.org/selfreg.  The temporary card will allow access to the Library’s online resources for 60 days. To obtain a library card with full borrowing privileges, participants can stop by the Circulation Desk after the class with a valid California Driver’s license, a California photo ID or another acceptable form of identification to complete the registration process.
