Reagan-Gallegly Fellows Announced
Two new Reagan-Gallegly Fellows have started their studies in the Master of Public Policy and Administration (MPPA) program during the academic year 2021/22. Introducing our first, Jacqui Maciel, who received her bachelor’s degree in Sociology/Law and Society from UC Riverside. Jacqui chose to apply to the MPPA program and the fellowship as she feels that it best serves her career goals to contribute to policy improvements and being a better informed and more engaged member of our democracy. She is particularly interested in the effects of policies on marginalized communities and what can be done to improve equity with respect to social programs and human rights. Jacqui is proud to be chosen as a fellow as it helps to increase LatinX representation in higher education, and she has plans to continue her educational path in a doctoral program after completion of the MPPA program. More information about current and past fellows can be found on the website for the Elton and Janice Gallegly Center.
