  • Save the Date: 2022 Winter Faculty Retreat, "Meaningfully teaching and reaching today's students with intersecting identities," featuring keynote speaker Genevieve Flores-Haro, Associate Director for the Mixteco/Indigena Community Organizing Project (MICOP), a nonprofit serving the indigenous migrant community in California’s Central Coast, Tues., Jan. 17, 9am-2pm, Soiland Arena, with coffee and camaraderie starting at 8:30am.   • All Fall 22 grades are due on Tues., Dec. 27 at 8 am. Self-Service is the most straight forward way to submit your grades online. After all grades are submitted for a class you will receive a confirmation email from the system email address, datatel@callutheran.edu. If you have any questions or difficulties entering your grades, please contact Maria Kohnke at kohnke@callutheran.edu or Stephanie Mercer at mercer@callutheran.edu.
     
  • Summer Professional Development Opportunity: Washington, DC. Faculty and staff interested in pursuing professional goals while living in Washington, DC for a two-week period between May-August 2023 are invited to submit an application to the Lutheran College Washington Semester Summer Research Program. Perhaps you wish to incorporate course content related to DC into your syllabus, conduct research in the area, or create experiential opportunities for students? Application deadline is March 15.   • Cal-Lu Oxford Faculty Leader Interest: If you wish to receive information about the Cal Lutheran/University of Oxford Faculty Lead program, please send a note to global@callutheran.edu. Details from the November interest session will be shared along with the gForm application link. The submission is now extended to early January 2023 with preference for Fall 2024, 2025 and 2026 options included. 
     
  • Save the Date: Harold Stoner Clark Lecture Series presents Sean A. Valles, PhD, Associate Professor and Director of the Michigan State University Center for Bioethics and Social Justice, speaking on "The Ethical and Public Health implications of Mass Incarceration and Housing (In)Security,” Tues., Feb 21 in Samuelson Chapel.
    • Lecture 1:  "Rethinking Prisons, Policing, and Public Health after Fifty Years of Mass Incarceration," 11:10am.  **Please note we will be on Convocation Schedule with classes ending at 11am and resuming at 12:40pm.
