Students invited to attend the Transfer Interview Day may register online to let Cal Lutheran know they would like to attend a virtual interview. Space is limited for this program and all available spaces may fill very quickly once registration opens.
Attire:
Students are encouraged to wear attire that will give you confidence as you complete your interview. Although virtual, students are encouraged to present themselves in a professional manner during the interview, with good audio and video quality.
Setting up for your Interview:
As with other online activities (classes, meetings, etc.), students are encouraged, if possible, to create a quiet space with little distractions. Please utilize additional technologies such as headsets and/or peripheral microphone if you prefer.
The Interview:
We encourage you to turn on your camera if you are able and comfortable doing so; however, if your device does not allow for it, or you don't feel comfortable having your camera on, that is okay (and you will not be penalized). Our Interviews are excited to get to know you!
The interview is an effort to get to know each student better. The interviewers will not be asking questions designed to mislead or confuse students. Questions are likely to be revolved around activities and interests; books, journals, or articles read outside of the classroom; current events happening in the world today; and an inspirational person.
The interview will take place via Zoom, and you will be emailed instructions on how to connect once you register for your appointment. You will be able to join the Zoom session up to five minutes prior to your scheduled interview time. Interviewers will contact you at the mobile number provided during registration if they are unable to connect with you in the first few minutes to help troubleshoot any connectivity issues. If you have not heard from your interviewers (and have not connected via Zoom) five minutes after the scheduled start time, please call 805-493-3135 for assistance.
