A midsummer’s night dream to me in Thousand Oaks is watching one of the Kingsmen Shakespeare Company’s productions in the park at California Lutheran University. The setting is as non-traditional as the troupe’s performances, but just as delightful. I will often attend multiple performances of the same play with different groups of friends. From the first night to the twelfth night, there is something in each performance to be marveled at, delivered cleverly and creatively, just as you like it.
If you expect Shakespeare to be stuffy, dry, and irrelevant to the modern era, you will be in for a surprise. Kingsmen productions are refreshing, lively, and relevant.
