My name is Jason Hensley, PhD, and I’ve spent one semester so far teaching with FAB. I can’t wait to teach more courses. FAB is something special––unlike many university courses, FAB students are in class because they want to be. They love learning. They think about the topics, they ask pertinent questions, and they are highly motivated. My favorite moments center around those questions. As a teacher, you can tell when your students are engaged based on their feedback. When you ask a question and no one answers, you feel pretty certain that no one is listening. But, when you’re asked a relevant question, not only do you know that the students are listening, but you know that they’re listening and thinking about the material. Throughout my classes with FAB, students have asked penetrating questions, taking the subject deeper, and making it all the more powerful and spirited. FAB is an awesome program, and it’s a privilege to be a part of it.
