Fifty and Better – A Fantastic Resource

When I retired in 2018 I wondered how I could keep my mind active and engaged. I thought about enrolling in some classes at Moorpark College, but the idea of taking exams discouraged me. I didn’t want to work hard, I just wanted to keep learning! Then I heard about the FAB program on Nextdoor. As soon as I took my first class I was hooked. I loved using Zoom for the classes (particularly once Covid hit), and the wide variety of topics available. I’ve stayed engaged for several years now, for several reasons: *FAB offers a great variety of topics, all very appealing to me – especially politics, art, pop culture, history, and architecture. *I really enjoy the instructors – David Parsons, Katherine Zoraster, Eleanor Schrader, Herb Gooch, to name a few of my favorites. All of the presenters have been wonderful. *I love the community. Lisa & Christina seem like old friends now, and participating in the Jeopardy games has brought an added connection to other members. As a political science major in the 70’s at UCLA, I’ve always been hooked on political topics. My favorite instructor is Dr. David Parsons – he is so much younger than us, yet is so well-versed in the political and cultural times we grew up in. I look forward to continuing with FAB and actually attending some in-person classes. Thank you for providing this fantastic resource.
