Greetings~ I am Christine Maasdam and I am pleased to be a FAB lecturer. The art world is my arena. The protection of Cultural Heritage, the reduction of art trafficking and the prevention of art crime, including forgery and fraud are my specialties. What I thoroughly enjoy about the FAB program is that it allows me to bring elements of these specific subjects into art history while exploring the artists of various eras against the backdrop of social and historical events. This merging of disciplines provides a wider perspective through which to view the impact that art has made over the centuries and its enduring legacy in our lives. Although we have been on Zoom to date, the conversations that have occurred during and after the classes through email have been invigorating and deeply meaningful. I am always thrilled when a lecture has sparked an interest and curiosity in a presented subject. To hear the excitement of discovery in any student is a true gift to an educator. I am thankful for the FAB students and the passion that they bring to my classes.
