About
Brent Ramirez is a theatre artist, educator, producer, and arts entrepreneur whose work centers on musical theatre performance, artist development, and arts education. A graduate of California Lutheran University’s Theatre Arts program, he returned to Cal Lutheran as an adjunct faculty member teaching Musical Theatre.
Brent is the founder and Executive Director of Born to Perform Studio, where he develops performing arts training, productions, and leadership opportunities for young artists throughout the Conejo Valley and surrounding communities. His work spans musical theatre, acting, vocal performance, directing, producing, arts administration, and the development of educational programs designed to help emerging artists grow both technically and creatively.
In addition to his work as an educator and producer, Brent remains active as a performer and regularly participates in theatrical productions, workshops, readings, and the development of new theatrical work. This continued involvement in the industry informs his teaching and allows him to connect classroom training with the realities of contemporary professional practice.
His teaching philosophy emphasizes strong technique, truthful storytelling, artistic curiosity, collaboration, and the development of each student's individual artistic identity. At Cal Lutheran, Brent is especially interested in helping students connect their academic training with professional opportunities while developing the practical, creative, and entrepreneurial skills necessary to build sustainable lives in the performing arts.
