About

Kate has been in the education sector since 2009, marking a journey of growth, leadership, and commitment to fostering the next generation of educators. Since 2012, she has been a teacher in the Conejo Valley Unified School District, serving at Westlake High School, where she has taught various subjects within the social science department. In 2022, she acquired her CTE credential in Education, Child Development, and Consumer Services. Currently, she teaches AP Psychology, co-teaches U.S. history CP, Child Development, and Foundations of Education.


She graduated from UCLA in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and earned a Single-Subject teaching credential in social science from California State University, Northridge (CSUN) in 2012. Recognizing the importance of leadership within educational settings, she pursued and obtained a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from California Lutheran University (CLU) in 2016. She has extended her influence to higher education as an adjunct instructor at CLU since Fall 2019. She teaches EDTP 513 Assessments in the Diverse Classroom and EDTP 535 Teaching Subject-Specific Pedagogical Skills – Social Science.


In 2022, she started the Future Educator's Pathway at Westlake High School. This Career Technical Education (CTE) program is a testament to her dedication to nurturing aspiring educators. It provides a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with the essential skills, knowledge, and understanding required to succeed in the education profession. The program's progressive design includes Child Development, Foundations of Education, and the capstone course, Advanced Teaching Practices Honors.
