About

Marin M. Kakachev grew up in Sofia, Bulgaria before relocating to California in 2000. Marin began his career in the luxury apparel industry working with in-store branding teams on location design, marketing and sales execution. Marin then transitioned to a role in the financial services industry, first with a Fortune 50 global financial services firm, and then with a Fortune 10 private banking institution and most recently as a senior risk manager at a privately held regional banking institution. Marin has enjoyed a decade’s long career in the financial services industry, bringing first-hand experience in building and developing high-performing teams. Marin’s early career experience centered on customer service in affluent customer segments, compliance and risk management. More recently Marin has undertaken multiple roles in process improvement, credit analysis, and corporate training. Marin currently helps oversee credit risk and executes commercial real estate underwriting and portfolio management for all of the Southern California market.

Marin is an avid believer in the power of mentorship to support and grow talent. He has performed as a Business Analyst mentor, Credit Analyst mentor and is certified as an APIA Mentor Collective mentor assisting college bound individuals partner with industry experts. Marin is also a volunteer consultant with The Grameen Foundation’s Bankers Without Borders organization and has been the team lead on international consulting projects in the non-profit sector. Marin is a graduate of the Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce - Leadership Simi Valley Program class of 2017.
