Dr. Rahuldeep Gill helps change agents imagine a better world, and equips them with the tools to build it. He advocates for equity and brings people of all backgrounds together to work for social justice. He can rock a crowd with a keynote address, or engage small workshops with transformative pedagogy.

As a lively and inspiring educator, Professor Gill has won multiple teaching awards for his intersectional approaches. He teaches a class on religion and hip-hop culture in addition to courses on Asian-American religions and ancient Asian spiritualities. Highly respected among his peers, Dr. Gill won his University’s inaugural award for research excellence and is a powerful voice for equity in higher education.

He has advocated for solidarity across boundaries in his writings for The Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Chronicle, and Huffington Post. Oxford University Press published his translations of poetry, and he is currently writing a memoir about growing up as a racial and religious minority in Massachusetts. Dr. Gill recently pitched a television series about the underground spiritualities of Los Angeles, and hosts weekly conversations on social media with artists and activists who envision a more just world.A native of the Boston area, Dr. Gill earned his bachelors, with Honors, from the University of Rochester in New York and doctorate from the University of California in Santa Barbara.

He lives in Los Angeles with his family.
